Who we are

This site is run by M&Z Design Chicago, an interior design studio based in Chicago, Illinois. We are responsible for the information described on this page. You can reach us at mzdesign14@yahoo.com or +1 773-968-1042.

What we collect

• What you send us. When you submit the consultation form on the Contact page, we receive whatever you enter: your name, your preferred phone or email, and any project details you share — type of project, rooms, budget range, timeline, and your message. We don't require an account or login anywhere on this site.
• Basic technical data. Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages receive your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• Usage statistics — only if you allow them. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly how visitors found the site, and general device and location information (city-level, not precise).

How it's used

We use your inquiry details to respond to your request, technical data to run and protect the site, and usage statistics — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used. Your information isn't added to a mailing list, used for advertising, or sold or shared with anyone for marketing purposes.

Who it passes through

A few outside services are involved in running this site, each handling a narrow, specific job. They are based in the United States.

• Vercel — hosts this website and delivers its pages, photographs and typefaces. Its servers process each page request, including your IP address, to deliver the site and guard against abuse.
• Resend — the email delivery service that carries your consultation request from this website to the studio's inbox. Resend processes the message only to deliver it.
• Google Analytics — used only if you allow analytics cookies. Google's advertising features are switched off, we don't use the statistics to identify you, and we don't combine them with anything you send through the consultation form.

The footer also links to the studio's Instagram and Facebook pages. Nothing is loaded from either service while you browse this site; they only learn of your visit if you follow one of those links, and each has its own privacy policy.

Cookies and similar storage

Nothing is stored for analytics unless you say yes. When you first visit, we ask whether you'll allow analytics cookies; if you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page — if you withdraw consent, analytics stops and its cookies are deleted. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat that as a “no” without asking.

• Always on (needed for the site to work). mz-consent remembers your cookie choice in your browser for up to six months. mz-intro-seen remembers, until you close the tab, that the opening animation has already played. Neither one identifies you or is sent to anyone.
• Analytics (only with your consent). _ga and _ga_YE0TQJKPHE are set by Google Analytics to tell visits apart. They last up to two years unless you withdraw consent or clear them sooner.

This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and nothing here is sold to ad networks or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Consultation requests stay in the studio's email inbox for as long as is useful for following up on the project — there's no separate database or CRM behind this site. Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for no longer than 14 months. Server logs are kept only briefly by the hosting provider.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent to analytics at any time — just email mzdesign14@yahoo.com. Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights over your personal information, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning a design project. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this page

If how we handle information changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
